January Books Read

Well, I'd say it's an okay start to the new year, not fabulous, but okay. I wish I could fit in more, but you know, there is life and all that sometimes happens.

Here's what I read:

The Fires of Heaven by Robert Jordan: Rand gains more followers and leads his first battle, while at the same time trying to solve the mystery of which girl he loves best.

The Lost Saint by Bree Despain: Grace and Daniel have a misunderstanding while trying to figure out where Grace's brother Jude has ended up.

Sapphique by Catherine Fisher: Finn has trouble becoming the prince and his friends Keiro and Attia are still trying to Escape.

Major Pettigrew's Last Stand by Helen Simonson: Major Pettigrew has a second chance at love from an unlikely source.

The Winter of Our Disconnect by Susan Maushart: A mom decides to try an experiment with her three teenagers by abstaining from technology for six months.

Hush by Kate White: Lake ends up in the wrong place at the wrong time and suffers some pretty intense consequences.

Favorites of the month: Major Pettigrew for sure, followed by The Fires of Heaven and The Winter of Our Disconnect.

Plans for next month:

  • read some fabulous love stories in celebration of Love Month with Fluttering Butterflies (and I would love suggestions!)
  • read A Madness of Angels
  • start (and hopefully finish) Lord of Chaos, the next Wheel of Time book
  • Re-read 84 Charing Cross Road for book club
  •  read something random for one of my random challenges

How'd your month go and what plans do you have for February?

  3. Good luck with your February plans! I remember reading 84 Charing Cross Road awhile back and really liking both the book and the movie. Enjoy!
