This is the second book in the Bramble Falls series, with the first being Falling Like Leaves. It's a small town series (with big time Gilmore Girl vibes) with each book being a different season theme and following a different couple. In Falling Like Leaves we met Ellis and Cooper, and this time we are cheering on Ellis's cousin Sloane and her best friend, Asher.
So yes, this is a friends to lovers troped book, which I love. Sloane and Asher have grown up together there in Bramble Falls and when another dude starts showing interest in Sloane, and when Asher starts "tutoring" one of their common friends... they BOTH start acting weird and jealous-like. It sparks the realization for both of them that they might actually love each in more than a friendship way.
In between all the feelings, they are deep into planning yet another festival there in the town. Sloane's mom is the mayor and wow, but she likes her festivals! So this is all during the month of December and there is one event after another and Sloane has to manage and plan many of them.
It's all very fun, but I do wonder as I'm reading if small towns truly do so much stuff! Like is this normal? LOL!
But for sure, so many great winter and holiday vibes! It will really put you in the mood for all that is heading our way here soon. And I loved these characters and really wanted them to figure it out sooner than later. I always get so anxious until they do, but I guess that's the point. So yay for Sloane and Asher!
Now I wonder which couple we'll get next??
I read an ARC for this book from NetGalley and it comes out this very today!
