Top Ten Tuesday: Books for Halloween

Here's ten books I think would be perfect Halloween reading! For more similar lists be sure to check out The Broke and the Bookish, site of this awesome Top Ten meme.

Top Ten Halloween Books

1. Dracula by Bram Stoker
2. Frankenstein by Mary Shelley
3. The Historian by Elizabeth Kostova
4. Rebecca by Daphne Du Maurier
5. The Graveyard Book by Neil Gaiman
6. Coraline by Neil Gaiman
7. The Turn of the Screw by Henry James
8. The Thirteenth Tale by Diane Setterfield
9. The Angel's Game by Carlos Ruiz Zafon
10. The Passage by Justin Cronin

....and pretty much anything by Stephen King of course!!!

What are your favorite creepy spooky Halloween sort of books?

  1. The Historian is perfect! As is Rebecca of course!

  2. That's a great list of books! I really wanted to read Frankenstein this year, but I am not thinking I will get to it.

  3. Hm...you know, the only Stephen King book I've read is his book about writing. And it will probably stay that way. I don't read horror for a reason.

  4. Rebecca and The Thirteenth Tale made my list too. I loved both of those books, especially Rebecca.

I want to read Dracula and Frankenstein, but I didn't even think of them when I was making up my list. *rolls eyes*

  5. How did I not think of The Graveyard Book? Or Rebecca? Sigh!

  6. I liked Dracula well enough but not my favorite. The Historian was fantastic! The Graveyard Book is excellent, and what is even better is listening to Neil Himself reading the story (audiobook). Coraline is rather creepy...pretty scary for a kids book, I think. I have yet to read The Thirteenth Tale - need to. Your list is great.
