Bloggiesta: Final Report

Well, I guess I got some stuff done! Click on over to my to do list page to see what I crossed off!

And I learned some things such as:

  • Bloggiesta-ing makes me very tired and my eyes buggy. Anyone else?
  • When mom's at the computer, there's always a kid over her shoulder wanting something.
  • Labels make me CRAZY!
  • But I figured out that in Blogger, you just need to make your post list up to 300 items long and then you won't have to keep flipping pages back and forth while you are editing labels. It made a world of difference. I didn't quite get done, but I think I can see the light at the end.
  • It's kinda scary deleting stuff from your sidebar that's been there forever!
  • Many many people have some really awesome looking blogs!
  • I can't face the Reader mess OR the email confusion. I just can't do it!
  • I hate unsubscribing to people and their blogs.
  • I'm not good at following with that Friend Connect/Blogger/Google thing either.
  • Tweetchat is an awesome way to follow Twitter hashtag conversations.
  • But I still feel like I'm talking to myself a lot on Twitter. It's like being in a big noisy room, and if your voice isn't loud no one can hear you! My voice isn't loud in real life OR on Twitter! :)
  • It's hard to eat nachos at a computer. Greasy hands and all.
  • Almost four years blogging and really, I still know nothing about this. I've been winging it this whole time!

So, what did YOU learn this time around during Bloggiesta?

Now, I just really want to read. Adios amigos!

  1. Gotta say that I cannot agree more with your last bullet! Thank you for letting me know that I am not alone!! :)

I didn't get as much done as I had hoped, but I'm okay with that! :)

  2. I'm with you on Twitter and not knowing anything. Hey, the labels look great!

  3. Yeah...I have not quite figured out how to talk on twitter without feeling like I am talking to myself or being egocentric.

Yeah...computer on, if kids are not asleep then they amazingly want a ton of things at that time. hmmm...

Go read, have fun...you deserve it. :)

  4. Love this post and agree with you on every single point. Twitter is still a mystery to me--I can't do it. I have an account but forgot my password. I don't have a phone that is capable of internet so really what is the point. I tried it during one of the read-a-thons and not only did it slow down my old computer (the tweet deck)I just found myself working to hard to keep up. Facebook is about as fast as I can handle!
Have a great week--I am off to bed to read too.

  5. It's my first time to join Bloggiesta, very eye-opening. I'm planning to go through the mini challenges I didn't do this weekend even when the bloggiesta is over. Tons of stuff that I'm learning as I go along!

And LOVE that you're listening to Adam's acoustic album too! My only complaint with that album is that as a selfish fan, I wanted MORE acoustic songs :)

  6. I admit, I don't know what blogiesta is - but it sounds fun. I don't like unfollowing either, and I have the same problem with crackers (not nachos)

    Have a great week! :)
