Booking Through Thursday: Unread

In the perfect follow-up to last week’s question, as suggested by C in DC:

Is there a book that you wish you could “unread”? One that you disliked so thoroughly you wish you could just forget that you ever read it?

I've said it before, and I'll say it again. The only book that I really wish I hadn't read is The Nanny Diaries. I just say nothing redeeming about that one at all. All the other books that I read, that perhaps I didn't really like, I'm still glad I read them. At least, right now, there's nothing I can think that I truly wish I hadn't read.

It'll be interesting to see what everyone else comes up with!

P.S. Happy BEA to all those who get to go! And to those who aren't, be sure to join the Twitty Party. All details about that can be found here at The Book Lady's Blog.

  1. I'm trying, but I can't think of a book I wish I hadn't read. Even the worst of them, I'm glad I read if only because I learned what to avoid in the future. LOL It's rare that I cannot find something I liked about even the most disappointing book in terms of books I've actually finished. If I hadn't, I wouldn't have finished the book.

  2. I didn't like The Nanny Diaries much, either!

  3. I found Nanny Diaries disappointing, but still don't wish I hadn't read it. There's books I wish I hadn't wasted my time on- but they're usually ones I didn't finish anyway...

  4. I do think this is a hard question because most of us will just quit a book if we don't like it.

  5. In the same genre, I wasn't too happy that I read Chasing Harry Winston, seemed like a waste of time.
