Teaser Tuesdays: Bad Day

TEASER TUESDAYS asks you to:
Grab your current read.
Let the book fall open to a random page.
Share with us two (2) “teaser” sentences from that page, somewhere between lines 7 and 12.
You also need to share the title of the book that you’re getting your “teaser” from … that way people can have some great book recommendations if they like the teaser you’ve given!
Please avoid spoilers!

From Inkdeath by Cornelia Funke page 317:

"This was going from bad to worse. What an unlucky day-- and it wasn't over yet."

(That was a hard one to find... every one I came across seemed like a spoiler, which was making me crazy!)

  1. From Wives and Daughters by Elizabeth Gaskell pg. 233

"These facts came out quite casually, almost as if he was unaware of what he was betraying; sometimes he dropped out such sentences as these... Perhaps, in the rapid flow of conversation, these small revelations were noticed by no one but Molly; whose interest and curiosity were always hovering over the secret she had become possessed of, in spite of all her self-reproach for allowing her thoughts to dwell on what was still to be kept as a mystery."

I tried to choose shorter sentences, but these had less spoilers. I left out part of the 1st sentence, because of it's length.

  2. Oooh - that sounds pretty depressing. I've got the first book, Inkheart, on my TBR list for this year. Sounds good, but it's very long.

  3. I really must get around to this book. Can't wait to see what you think of it in the end...
