The prompt over at The Broke and the Bookish takes a bit of a turn this week. Today, we are all confessing stuff! Oh boy.
Top Ten Blogging Confessions
1. I confess, I don't spend very much time on my reviews. I just want to get my thoughts out there quick-like and then see what you think about the book too.
2. Speaking of reviews, I confess that I don't read many reviews on other blogs. And then I wonder why no one reads mine!
3. I confess, I've never really had the desire to make money blogging.
4. I confess, I pretty much hate, well let's say dislike, the name of my blog. I didn't give it enough thought when starting so many years ago! But, I guess it's grown on me.
5. I confess, after over seven years of blogging, I still get excited about comments and sad when they don't happen (which seems to be a lot lately I must say.)
6. I confess also, that after over seven years of blogging, I still wonder if my blog is "interesting enough."
7. I confess, ever since Google Reader left, I'm REALLY having a hard time keeping up with you all! And I like and enjoy Feedly and everything.
8. I confess, I have a really hard time passing up a review offer when an author emails me personally. Ah, the pain and agony! But I can't say yes to you all!!
9. I confess that I wish I could be more creative and come up with something to do here on the blog that would be like.... WOW and everyone would love it and the whole world would visit and it would be so awesome. Some day?
10. I confess that I totally can't think of any more confessions to make! Cop out!!
What blogging things do you feel like confessing today? Come on. Spill!
Haha. I totally get that. I think blogging is becoming less a fad anymore. I know a lot of people who were avid bloggers who don't do it anymore. Most of my routine commenters are people I routinely visit. Good luck!
ReplyDeleteDonna: It's sad that the fad is going out. Oh well. I'll still be here!
DeleteI don't think commenting is as popular as it used it be. I miss it too.
ReplyDeleteHeather: Agreed!
DeleteYes, commenting is slowly dying - I blame phones and tablets. It is such a shame as it is my favourite part of blogging - hence why I'm leaving one for you :-)
ReplyDeleteJackie: and THANKS to you! :)
DeleteDarn it! I love bloggers. (Have no interest in doing it myself, but love reading others.) I don't want blogging to be dying.
ReplyDeleteWell, I don't think it's dying so much as it's becoming just a standard part of our lives, so maybe people aren't as enthusiastic about it as they were once upon a time.
Heidi: Here's hoping it won't totally die.
DeleteHa ha. Suey, you're hilarious! I love your blog because it's so YOU and you have very interesting content, even if you think you don't. Happy TTT!
ReplyDeleteSusan: LOL! Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for the kind words!
DeleteFun read! Yes, your blog is interesting - no worries there! I confess I do a lot more blog reading on my iPhone these days (so easy when I'm waiting in line somewhere to pull up Feedly) and it's SO hard to make comments on the phone. I mean, it's doable, but compared to the ease of being on the computer, I end up not commenting as much as I want to.
ReplyDeleteBelle: Thanks! And I'm exactly the same. I read on my phone and then forget to comment later. It's frustrating.
DeleteI like Bloglovin' and I actually think it is easier to keep up with posts. I read a lot of reviews either :(
ReplyDeleteAs you know, I'm not a blogger and I tend to be more of a lurker than a commenter, but I had to comment today just to make you happy. :-)

ReplyDeleteI started what is now my main blog as a joke: Shredded Cheddar was meant to be the "evil twin" of my religious blog Sancta Sanctis. (Because their names kind of sound alike . . . right? =P) When I retired the latter blog, I stuck with Shredded Cheddar . . . but then the story behind the name became a chore to share and I grew tired of everyone thinking it was a cooking blog. (LOL!) If I could go back in time and name it properly, I'd call it The Peanut Gallery. And maybe my obnoxiously unpronouncable Blogger name (which I got from a Middle-earth name generator, natch!) would be "Peanut," too. =P
I stopped spending as much time on my reviews as I used to; like you, I'm really just trying to get my thoughts down. I'm not trying to make money either so why bust yourself spending hours writing a long review when most people really want to know did you like it or not?
ReplyDeleteI confess to all your confessions, plus I confess I often think "why do I keep doing this"
