It's been a fun month, trying to read all Utah books and participating in Utah Book Month. Here's what I read this month:
The Breakaway by Michelle D. Argyle: What happens when a girl is kidnapped and then falls in love with her kidnapper?
Surrender by Elana Johnson: The sequel to Possession which focuses more on a couple of side characters.
Turning Pages by Tristi Pinkston: A girl wants to be the head children's librarian and when a very obnoxious dude comes in and steals her job, she is MAD!
The Rithmatist by Brandon Sanderson: A boy wants so very bad to be a rithmatist, and studies hard to learn about the practice, which enables him to in the end help to solve a disturbing mystery.
Seers by Heather Frost: After a near death experience, our heroine discovers she has seer powers and learns what sort of complications that brings into her life.
Pros of Prozac by Beca Mark: One person's memoir about who the depression drug Prozac changed her life.
After Hello by Lisa Mangum: Two teenagers spend a day in New York City together and each solve some of their particular issues.
Non-Utah Books that sneaked in on me:
The Dream Thieves by Maggie Stiefvater: The sequel to The Raven Boys where we learn much much more about a couple of the boys and how things get even more crazy!
Visiting Tom by Michael Perry: The author talks about the things he learns from visiting his elderly neighbor farmer, Tom.
(I'll be reviewing both these books soon!)
Not too bad, eh? I enjoyed them all!
My favorite of the Utah books: probably The Breakaway and Seers.
And I loved the other two non Utah ones that slipped in there too!

It was a great month!
Now, on to September! Here are my reading plans:
- re-read The Actor and the Housewife by Shannon Hale for book club
- re-re-read The Book Thief by Markus Zusak for our read along!
- read Wildcards and Blackout for review
- I would also read Rose Under Fire, but the download from NetGalley is not working!!!
- Blackmoore by Julianne Donaldson, which I hope to get soon
- The 5th Wave by Rick Yancy
- Pieces by Michelle D. Argyle
- I also have plans to co-host the above mentioned read along, plan a blogger party, go on a field trip to The King's English and make Bloggiesta happen!
And then I need to maybe think about some RIP reads! I'll probably concentrate on them more in October!
Whew. I feel like I'm on a roll right now. Here's hoping I can keep it up!
What a great reading month you've had! Your September reading plans look good, too. The Rithmatist sounds interesting - I'm definitely adding that to my to-read list.
ReplyDeleteI'm always so impressed with how much you're able to read each month! Seers is definitely on my TBR. It sounds so interesting.
ReplyDeleteThanks for doing The Book Thief along in the middle of everything else! I'm loving it already. :)
