Spring Break Reading Update

I had big plans for my spring break reading. Here's how it's going so far:

* I've read half of my ARC of Beatrice and Virgil by Yann Martell. My thoughts so far... strange. Very very strange.

* I've read a good 100 pages of The Ask and The Answer by Patrick Ness. My thoughts so far... this book is heart wrenching! I'm hoping that something good happens sometime!

* I hauled Daughter of the Forest by Juliet Marillier with me to the beach. (BEACH? Did I just say beach?) But instead of sitting back and relaxing and reading, I actually GOT WET and played in the water, then it got too cold and we left. So no idealistic beach reading for me after all.

I keep picturing nice long evenings of reading, but by the time the evenings get here, I'm too tired and my eyes end up closed instead of reading. I hate it when that happens!

Happy readathon to everyone tomorrow! I'll be thinking about you all! Maybe I'll get some reading done sometime during the day. Then again... maybe not.

  1. It must be all those rock concerts you've been going to. ;)

  2. I received a copy of Beatrice and Virgil too but am not sure I want to read it. It sounds like it is strange. I look forward to your final thoughts on it.

How fun! I am glad you were able to enjoy your visit to the beach. Sometimes playing in the water is the most fun way to spend your time there of all. :-)

I know what you mean about being too tired in the evenings to read. I've been feeling that way too.

I hope you have a great weekend!

  3. The word *strange* has been in every single review I have read of Beatrice and Virgil. I have never read The Life of Pi, and will probably not read this one either!
    Have a great Monday--

  4. MT: I think that's it! :)
    Angie: Yep!
Lit Feline: I'm going to finish that V and B tonight I hope, and I'll let you know!
Kim: I loved Life of Pi, but this one is really quite different. And yes, strange.
