My Favorite Things of 2012

In the tradition of Oprah, I give you MY FAVORITE THINGS of this past year. These are the things that I either discovered for the first time this year, enjoyed to the fullest this year, or re-discovered this year. If I had a show, like Oprah, these are the things I'd love to give away to you all!
I spent my hard earned money
on a sub-woofer for our TV!
And now we can make the whole house
vibrate while watching movies!
I love it!

We are late to the Netflix game, but this year
we've realized we are truly addicted.
At work I have a blast making
 custom cards for personnel
using this awesome easy program.

One of my favorite flavors!
Lovely new album by
 a lovely rockin' group!

I had no idea what I'd do with this app,
as it turns out I take TONS more pictures now!

Gotye!
Best new-to-me artist of the year!

This ice cream flavor is to die for.
A staple product at our house
 and I'm beginning to
worry they will discontinue it.
Best new gadget of the year, hands down!

I joined Pinterest at the end of last year,
and this year I wondered what I ever did without it.

A new Spider-man?
Yes! And an awesome good one!

We went to this store for the first time
 while visiting Arizona.
And now.. it's coming here!

These taste just like the
Girl Scout thin mints. Love them!

As you can see, there are no books on this list. That's because you all know the favorite books list will be a post of it's own in about a month!

Until then, tell me what some of your favorite (non bookish) things of the year have been!! Maybe I can use them for Christmas gift ideas!

My favourite thing of the last year is my kindle. In Spain Amazon began working just one year ago, and all the people have kindles since then. Now I can't live without it!

  2. Hmmmm....good question! I really love Pinterest and can spend hours browsing through boards, pinning new ideas! And I just discovered World Market, and think it's going to be my new favorite store! Another favorite is the dutch caramel wafers I found at World Market. So good!

Looking forward to seeing your favorite book list!

    1. Alexia: So far, I've managed to be pretty good about limiting time on Pinterest. I guess that's a good thing!

  4. Great list! I'm a big fan of Pinterest and Netflix too :)I've started using Instagram but I mostly have no idea what I'm doing, lol. Those cookies sound YUMMY!

Some of my new non-bookish faves? Owl City, just love that music to bits. The Little People Bat Cave set that I bought my youngest nephew for Christmas. It might be the cutest thing ever! Chubby little Batman :)

  5. What a great idea might have to steal it! I love the Oprah feature and love your list. I joined pinterest this year too and don't know what I did before it. I wish those mint cookies and chocolate peanut butter ice cream were available in Europe!

    1. L: I'm so excited there is one in the vicinity. I still think it's too far away though.

  8. I just started using Instagram too and LOVE IT! Those filters take ordinary little photos and make them something neat. I'm taking more photos than ever now thanks to it.

And I'm just going to pretend I didn't read that about "tastes just like Thin Mints." That could be too dangerous for me.

  10. Ah, Trader Joe's - a whole new way to discover things you never knew you couldn't live without. They have lemonade my daughter would have me bringing home every day if I only loved her enough!

  11. Fun post idea! Are you going to give away all your favorite things like Oprah does? I'd like to see that carton of ice cream under my Christmas tree :) Did you go to the Tillamook cheese factory on your trip to the NW? They've got the BEST ice cream (okay, second best -- the BYU Creamery has the best. Still ...)

I agree with you about the Kindle Fire -- it's been one of my favorite (sort of) non-book things this year.

    1. Susan: I wish I could give them all away! Wow, that would be something. We TRIED to go to the factory in Tillamook, but alas, we got there just as they were closing, so oh, well. Next time!

  12. I love Trader Joes! Also, I visited the Tillamook factory when I was in Oregon and got to see how they make their cheese. The ice cream was incredible!

  13. Hmmm, I like the non bookish things you loved. I should do a post like this.

  14. This is fun! And way better than Oprah's. :D Hmm.. my favorite non bookish thing?? The only thing I can think of is my L'Oreal Sulfate free shampoo and conditioner. It makes your hair amazingly soft and smells heavenly. We even use it on our two boys now and their hair is beautiful.
I agree. How did you live without pinterest? :)
