I love The Chosen One. And really liked My Fair Godmother.
ReplyDeleteCompound will be one of this year book battle reads for the Area Wide Battle I co-founded and hosted by my middle school. It was a very good book with some interesting ideas about survival and family. Chains is also on the list. Those are the only two I have read from this list.

ReplyDeleteI've read 3 of the books on the list: MY FAIR GODMOTHER, THE COMPOUND and CHOSEN. I loved both GODMOTHER and CHOSEN, although I think CHOSEN is the more award-worthy of the two. I wasn't impressed with COMPOUND's execution, even though I really liked the premise. I'll be interested to see which book wins!

Annette: Interesting info. I had Princess hear from the library and had to take it back unread.... dang.
That's cool the library does that. My YA is in the poetry category (FAR FROM YOU) and I'm afraid no one will read and vote for it because it's nominated there with a bunch of poetry books for young kids. :) Mine is a novel written in verse, so it's not a poetry book per se. Oh well, it's very nice to be nominated - I'm honored!!!
ReplyDeleteI work in a High School Library and have found The Chosen One and Compound to be the most popular with the students. I really did like them both as well. Princess of the Midnight Ball, Eon and Along for the ride are right up there in popularity as well. I need to read the rest of them so I can booktalk them as well. We do vote on the books here at the high school. As last years winner says : Let the games begin!
