Utah Book Month: One True Pairings Challenge
Today Stephanie (from Chronicles of a Novice Writer) has challenged us to think of two couples from two different books and have them go head to head in a virtual fight, or challenge of the wits, or some sort of showdown.
So, this being a Utah Book Month celebration and all, I've chosen my two couples from Utah books. Well... make that one Utah book and one "used to be Utah book now written by an author that is currently living in Germany but still from Utah and will be back in Utah some day" book!!!
And what makes this showdown even more fun, if you haven't already guessed by now, his that the authors are brothers in real life!
Without further ado.....
In the first corner, we have Benson and Jane from Variant and Feedback by Robison Wells. Benson is smart and feisty and non-conformist and brave and strong and true! And Jane has some very unique and special features that I cannot reveal at this time as it is much too much spoilery. But just know, she is... not your average chick.
In the opposite corner, we have Kira and Samm from Partials and Fragments by Dan Wells. Kira is similar to Benson above in that she is smart and feisty and brave and strong! She has taken on the task to cure the plague and save the world. And guess what? She can do it! And then there's Samm... aw Samm! He's a Partial (which I don't think that information is too spoilery, right?) meaning he has many superpowers that humans don't have, mostly enhanced... everything.
So, should these two pair off in a fight, or a battle of wits, or some sort of showdown.... who do you think would win?
My bet would be on...... drum roll please...... Kira and Samm!
I just think with Samm on your side, you'll be nearly invincible, unless you find yourself at that one place at that one city, you know. (Vague non-spoiler reference there.) But still... he's awesome.
Agree or disagree?
What two couples from Utah books would YOU like to see face off against each other?

I haven't read Variant and Feedback, but based on Samm's abilities I suspect you're right!
ReplyDeleteOoh! What a fun challenge. I have to think about this one. I love that you picked books by two brothers.
