Ten Books at the Top of My TBR Pile
1. Divergent by Veronica Roth
2. The Wise Man's Fear by Patrick Rothfuss
3. Under the Dome by Stephen King

6. Possession by Elana Johnson
7. Unbroken by Laura Hillenbrand
8. The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks by Rebecca Skloot

Which one do you think I should go for first? Have you read these? Which one was your favorite? Is there one you didn't like at all?
Please wish me luck in getting to them!
DIVERGENT WAS BRILLIANT. Possession was...well, I didn't finish it.
ReplyDeleteI've heard great things about Divergent. My husband really liked Koontz's Odd books. And right now I'm in the middle of Entwined and really enjoying it.
ReplyDeleteI made the same list! :)

Good list! Mine is similar, except that I went with classics I want to read.
ReplyDeleteSupernaturally is near the top of my list as well. I also need to read Divergent.
A lot of those are on my list, too. I really, really want to read UNDER THE DOME, but it's SO dang long, so I keep putting it off. I'd suggest you start with DIVERGENT. It's a fast-moving adventure that'll get your adrenaline pumping - which should totally count as exercise, you know?
ReplyDeleteGreat list, I say go for DKoontz
ReplyDeleteI would say Divergent, Supernaturally, and then Immortal Life. Those are my favorites on you list.
ReplyDeleteWell, I can see I'm getting outvoted but you may remember how I felt about Divergent. I would not recommend you read it first unless you're just trying to get it over with. ;) You can also probably guess which one I suggest you read first. ;) Go Odd!!!!
ReplyDeleteDefinitely go for Henrietta Lacks!!
ReplyDeleteI definitely highly recommend Divergent FIRST for a thrill-ride and THEN Supernaturally for a lot of sarcasm and hilarity!
ReplyDeleteGreat list!

Divergent!
ReplyDeleteUnder the Dome was an excellent read, especially coming into creepier autumn weather (I love the atmosphere!) Also, my partner got really sucked into The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks and he enjoyed it immensely.
ReplyDeleteHappy reading!
I highly recommend "Unbroken" and
ReplyDelete"The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lack" ... both were very intense!
I'm with Jenny in the didn't love Divergent group. So I'll put in a vote for Possession. I thought about that for days after I finished it. Supernaturally was good, too.
ReplyDeleteJessica: Didn't finish? Dang.
ReplyDeleteMouseprints: I look forward to your Entwined review!
Anges: Off to check out your list shortly, thanks for dropping by.
Jenni: Ah, I could make a top ten of classics too. Always have a list of those going.
Susan: Hey, long? What's long? I am NOT scared of long anymore! You want to join a buddy read of Under the Dome, with Jenny and I, so far?
Marce: Okay! I've never read one of his and so how can I call myself a reader??
RockyRiver: Gah!!! How am going to pick!
Jenny: You are SO outvoted! I really want to get to know Odd, so he may be very close to the top. It looks short and easy too.
Reviews: Henrietta? Seriously?!! You guys are so not helping!
Sash and Em: Love your list, but I was scared of spoilers so I only skimmed.
Lin: Divergent is definitely winning this comment contest!
Kate: Eww... good to hear! Now I'm especially excited.
Annie: Wow! Intense?
Kathy: I really hope I can get to them all soon!
Very interesting mix. You just reminded me to request Unbroken on audio from the library. I really enjoyed Seabiscuit although I didn't expect to.
ReplyDeleteCome check out my list for the week at The Scarlet Letter.
I have Divergent. Need to read it. It ranks at the top 10 of my TBR and so does The Wise Man's Fear.
ReplyDeleteOh.. A Solider's Wife - I heard that this one is a good story and that you may like it well. ;)
LBC: Same here with Seabiscuit. I loved it and I'm not really a horse person at all.
ReplyDeleteIbeeeg: LOL! Yeah, I bet you thought I forgot about that book, right? Nope, I didn't... I actually can't wait to read it, but as you can see... there's so much competition! It's making me crazy...
The only one I've read is the Henrietta Lacks book -- which I liked. Good luck getting to all ten!
