Currently: SO BEHIND!!

I'm so behind in blogging I don't even know where or how to catch up. Maybe I'll do a mini review post with all the books I've read these past few months? And mini review post with all the dramas I've watched?  I don't know. If feels so pointless!

It's been a busy couple of months since I was last here. We had a family reunion trip, and I've gone to LA again for more kpopping. And I've had a lot of videos to edit for youtube, which tends to take priority. So yeah. I'm still here! But feel like even though it's been busy, I don't have much to say here on the blog! THE STRUGGLE!

Listening:

Here's a Spotify link to my favorite songs from August. https://open.spotify.com/playlist/22s5YlIVQT3kcBzHNs7lz3?si=1993ffa524cf4d4a

Here's a song I especially love of late. It's a kpop group, but they are singing English. And there's no dancing in this video for those who are annoyed by that. It's just singing. I love the upbeatness of this one. We got to meet this group during KCON. They are a blast. Boogie Woogie by Cravity:

Watching:

I've been catching up on some American TV these past couple of months. We watched all four seasons of Stranger Things. And then WandaVision, and now Loki. All very fun. Stranger Things is intense, yeah? But now I can finally feel in the know with regard to that series. It feels good! What should we watch next?

 Reading:

I am keeping up with book club reads and that's about it. I did just finish a random book from my pile... Across the Universe, which was popular years back and has been waiting its turn all these years. That was a crazy book!

Writing:

In June I did pretty good with writing. But then it all fell apart in July and August with all the stuff going on. I'm ready to start it up again. And have wondered if I will be doing Nano in November or not, because if so, it's time to start planning! But first I really wanted to submit my 80s books somewhere, and at least finish the space book. I am SO CLOSE!

Blogging:

Last time I did one of these posts I wrote "still here" for this section. LOL, I can't even write that this time since I basically disappeared! Anyway, I listed all my excuses above, but yeah, I'm really struggling with it right now.

YouTubing:

I've been editing like crazy. A KCON vlog and another nonkopper series, several Shorts. Anyway. It's taking up a lot of time but not giving any pay back. So I'm struggling there too. I want so bad for it to be a real thing, but I am missing some key ingredient that I either need to figure out, or just give it up.

Health Watch:

I am at place now where I am just eating whatever. But still trying to exercise even though that has suffered with all the events of late.

Misc:

* Tori came back from Korea in July, and then got Covid. So we hunkered down for a week or so, but I never got it.

* I went to kpop concerts in May and July, and KCON in August. Three trips to LA.

* The Oregon trip happened, with all the family.

The whole family!

* The garden is failing as expected. We might have a pepper to eat one of these days.

* Basically if you look back on what I've just written, I'm struggling with everything. No wonder I've been avoiding coming here to report! LOL!

Currently: Post Conference Depression

We talk a lot about PCD regarding concerts, but I think it can totally apply to conferences too. Coming back down from a high is always rough, no matter what the thing was that caused it, right? LOL!

Anyway, I think it's about time for another monthly CURRENTLY check in post!

Listening:

Maybe my favorite song of the week? Not your typical kpop I must say:

But also this one. TXT is just killing it for me lately:

Watching:

Enjoying yet another season of Survivor! And it's almost over again already!

Halfway through a kdrama called Tomorrow about grim reapers who save people from suicide. Lots and lots of tears with this one.

 Reading:

Finished Carve the Mark by Veronica Roth for book club this next week. I loved it! Review to come soon...

I can't figure out what to start next. I am overwhelmed with possibilities.

Writing:

I went to an awesome writers conference this past week (thus the bit of PCD) and learned so much amazing stuff! I hope to ride the wave and get going with things! Before the conference, I spent a lot of time this past week going through edits from beta readers for my high school 80s story. But I really really need to finish the space story. I also need to start a tiktok for writerly things. LOL! That cracks me up.

Blogging:

Still here!

YouTubing:

I put every single BTS song into one 8 minute video. Seriously. For reals. Also, I'm going to start a regular series of vlogging type videos. Just me talking. Awesome, right? Ha. That also cracks me up.

I have plans to do another non-kpopper series. I have a victim in mind. Stay tuned... WAH! So excited!

Health Watch:

I started keeping track of food again. I've had a couple of days of eating better. And lots of days of not. Why is this so hard? I can't even tell you how bad I hate this.

Misc:

* I went to Las Vegas to see BTS at the huge new Allegiant Stadium on their last day in concert there. It was awesome. Here's our vlog and concert footage of that experience.

* In two weeks I'm driving back to LA to see another group in concert. They are called The Boyz and they are awesome. Here they are being unbearably cute, click if you dare.

* I sent daughter Toto off to Korea to spend the summer with her aunt there. She will have a blast I hope and I will be fine without her here. Right?

* I need to plan another Oregon escape.

* Our fridge broke so we got a new one.

* Our fence fell down, but we didn't get a new one. Yet.

Currently: It's STILL winter???

I know today I'm supposed to be doing a Top Ten Tuesday post, but I had no idea what list there, so instead you get a little life catch up, since I've been gone for a bit.

Listening:

One of my favorite groups had a comeback last week and I love love love their new song. It's called X-Ray. Their dancing kills me every time.

And for something totally different from that, here's a group called Kingdom singing a song called Promise that I totally can't get enough of.

Watching:

Just finished one of the best kdramas I've watched in a while. This show is a perfect example of everything I love about kdramas. It's called Business Proposal (you can find it on Netflix) and I'll do a review here soon. But yeah, used nearly ever kdrama trope there is and I giggled through the whole thing. Here's a scene everyone went crazy about. This is the second lead couple, who got such as great a storyline as the first!

 Reading:

While on vacation I finished a couple of books. The first one in Trish's new kdrama series, Summer Rain. And Nicola Yoon book that's been on my list forever, The Sun is Also a Star. I enjoyed them both! I've also been doing some beta reading for new writing friends. I wish I could clock these on Goodreads!

Meanwhile I'm still working on Iron Flower and I've started Lemon Drop Falls.

Writing:

I haven't been writing at all lately. Just doing the beta reading. I need to get going again.

Blogging:

Well. I'm obviously VERY behind again. I need to do a couple of book reviews and one kdrama review.

YouTubing:

I compiled 50 of my favorite BTS songs into one fast video.

And I put all my favorite songs so far this year into an even faster video:

Health Watch:

I'm gaining all the weight I lost in 2020 back very nicely. So much fun. I'm addicted to this collagen drink, which I like to think is helping me be healthy somehow. And I am still love love LOVING going into the virtual world to exercise.

Misc:

* we survived our trip to Mexico. Sat on the beach beds and read a lot. And also got to visit Chichen Itza.

* got together with old collage roommates last night (and I mean OLD in both senses of the word!) and that was fun!

Actually we don't look too bad for being so old!!

And that's about the sum of life around here lately. How's life where you are?

Currently: Still Alive

It's been forever since I've done a weekly wrap up "currently" post. Thought I'd give it a try again. Even though life is mostly boring.

Listening: This past week I've rediscovered a couple of favorite groups that have recently received a ton of attention thanks to their two respective members being in a very buzzed about kdrama. Those groups are Dongkiz and KNK. Both very small, not well-known groups, but groups that should actually have ALL THE LOVE in the kpop world. So first off, I discovered I love this song called Fade, by KNK, which went unnoticed by me before. Here's a live stage of it:

(This group has members all over six feet tall. Can you tell?)

And then the song from Dongkiz that I will push on everyone without restraint is called Lupin. The choreo is SO COOL!

Watching: Well, I watched the drama mentioned above starring the boys from those two groups. More on that later. I've started another drama called A Business Proposal which includes every single kdrama trope you can think of it.  IT'S SO PERFECT! We also started a new season of Survivor. Can't believe that thing is still going strong.

Reading: I'm stuck on the second book of the Black Witch chronicles called The Iron Flower. It's good, but I'm just taking forever with it. I read the first chapter of Nine Perfect Strangers for book club next week. And I'm doing a bunch of beta reading for writer friends.

Writing: I finished catching up on what I've written for the unnamed space opera book. (Please, someone figure out a title for me!) And now I just need to figure out how to finish up this story. I also need to add a bunch of stuff to the middle. I'm so bad at this! I have also sent out my 80's high school story to several beta readers. Anxiously waiting for that feedback, and then we'll figure out what the next step is for THAT book.

Blogging: I'm happy that several author events have happened in the past few weeks, and more will be happening coming up. It  makes me feel like life is going back to normal more than almost anything else. I've missed it so bad.

YouTubing: I was on two live streams on my friend's channel hyping up a couple of different kpop book series. (I've blogged about them both here.) So that was fun.  I thought up a fun, fast way to introduce groups to people wanting to learn the members. I hope to make more of these types of videos. (I'll embed that one here because it would be cool if you clicked.)  I posted my favorite songs from February. And I made a snarky video about how I'm the worst kpop fan ever.

Health Watch: I am loving exercising. But am discouraged that it seems to truly not make a difference in anything except that it lets me know how old I am because it makes my knees hurt. But whatever. I love it, so... sorry body. You have to do it. My diet is basically normal right now, with the few exceptions of life changes that stuck with me after the low carb thing. That doesn't really seem to matter either because the weight is coming back. Surprise surprise. I continuously argue in my head which is the worse thing... hating life because you can't eat fun things. Or being fat. I haven't come up with an answer yet....

Misc:

* I want to find time to get going on another tshirt quilt. But my sewing machine says "are you kidding  me?" and needs a tune up and/or repair before that can happen.

* A family trip to Mexico is coming up (with my siblings and parents.) Wish me luck!

* We are one of the tens of thousands of lucky ones who ended up with a ticket to the BTS concert in April in Vegas! I will be shouting about that as the time gets closer!

* I went to a funeral for a friend who had brain damage from an accident 8 years ago. Her family finally decided to pull live support and let her go. It's been quite the reminder about how to enjoy life no matter the craziness it brings us.

Currently: Feeling Sad-ish

Listening: Someone has taken over the Spotify and there is some weird rap going on. But mostly, what I'm listening to these days are these guys:

Watching: And those guys I will get to WATCH in real life in a few weeks. I am beyond excited. Other watching habits are simply an episode of a kdrama every night. I just finished one last night and will review shortly. It takes me about two weeks to finish a drama. Some people I follow over on Twitter watch a drama a day a swear. I don't know how they fit in life between that. I haven't managed to find any English speaking shows that sound interesting and I haven't seen a movie in a long time. Life is weird. Does a new Survivor start up again soon? I think that's the only show that my husband and I enjoy together so...

Reading: I've been reading pretty well lately. Knocking those books out one by one! But nothing very amazing. I mean Kafka on the Shore was fascinating. And then I finished Geekerella (review to come soon). Sheesh, talk about two different kinds of books. LOL. Trying to finish up this week's book club book, The Marriage Bureau. It's fun and so full of so many interesting stories.

Blogging: Well, I must admit, I don't even know why I'm still doing this. I like the personal record of it for sure. I have maybe what... 3 readers still? Anyway, thank you if you are still reading. I'm a terrible reader of blogs myself these days. I skim some still though. Man I miss the heyday of blogging from a few years ago. Good times.

Writing: I still think about it every day. This past weekend was LTUE, the awesome local very cheap conference that I went to faithfully for about ten years, but have missed the past two years. Another sad thing from the past, eh? Maybe next year I'll be ready to pick it up again.

YouTubing: We crossed over yet ANOTHER 1000 subscriber mark since the last Currently I posted. Wow. It's mostly because we put up a compilation of Monsta X being cute with kids which a ton of people see and then automatically subscribe to us. I think. Yay for that video! Now if only they'd watch a couple other videos of ours! It's just like blogging though, we have a few stalwarts that seem to enjoy what we are doing and comment and interact. So for now... the channel continues.

Looking Forward To and Being Nervous About:

  • seeing a Japanese rock band called One Ok Rock in SL on Tuesday.
  • taking Toto to CA next week to send her to Korea.
  • going to CA in March to see ATEEZ (see above)
  • hopefully going to CA in May to see Stray Kids
  • hopefully going to Korea in June to travel around after Toto is done with her semester

Misc:

  • organized my book mess in the basement. That feels good to finally have under control, for a few days anyway.
  • having fun with the book challenge from the local bookstore.
  • continuously craving chocolate chip cookies. I fight it nearly daily. Sometimes I win, sometimes I lose.
  • am addicted to kpop stan Twitter and need to figure out how to detox.

If you are a friend/fan of Toto, you should follow her new Youtube channel where she will be posting creative artsy videos (not vlogging necessarily, though a vlog or two might make an appearance) about her adventures in Korea. This channel is her  EDGE project for school.

She also has a new companion Instagram for Korean adventures channel. If you want to see pictures there. I'm hoping she updates often!  You can find her at @totally_there

And that's pretty much what's been going on around here! What's new with you all?

Currently: Full

Listening: Spotify has created a playlist of my favorite and most listened to songs from last year. So I'm playing that and enjoying some memories! It's true that some of these songs have been forgotten about in favor of new stuff. Sad! But thank you Spotify for helping  me to remember.

Watching: A very awesome drama called The Smile Has Left Your Eyes. It's a crime suspense sort of drama with a murder mystery that a lot of you murder mystery lovers would... you know... love. Also, keeping up on Survivor! How is it that that show never gets old??? I am not watching Walking Dead this season. Maybe I'll catch up someday. I have some desires to see Bohemian Rhapsody at the theater, but it hasn't happened yet. Queen was one of the first groups I ever had physical music for...We Will Rock You and We Are the Champions... for 12 year old birthday. On a 45 record. One song on one side, and the other on the other. Y'all know what that is, right?

Oh, we saw Come From Away this week. The musical. I didn't know much about it going in, but I came out LOVING IT! I plan to gush in a separate post. But, yeah. SO GOOD!

Reading: I'm in the middle of Hank Green's book (well actually more toward the end) and I just want to get done with it. Sigh. This one is not going down as one of my favorites this year that's for sure.

Writing: I really wish I was doing NaNo. Seeing everyone's updates on this is killing me. I totally still have the bug and think about my stories pretty much every day. I just can't convince myself they are worth writing. Sigh. The struggle.

YouTubing: Well somehow I still have videos to put out. Kpop for Beginners, album collection, watching videos with Emily, and Friday Fives. We crossed over to a new 1000 subscriber mark...which is always fun. I have no idea who keeps subscribing to us. By the way, my sister and partner in YouTubing took off and went to Korea to live. Yeah. So hopefully we'll have some videos of her experience soon to share.

Picture Taking:

Misc: So my granddaughter number 2 was born yesterday! I will be going in a few days to see her! YAY!! I will also be having a birthday in a few days. I'll let you know if this the one where I will suddenly not like doing all these things that I like... I guess it will hit some year, yeah? That's what they say anyway. (I will stop now before my snark gets worse.)

Have a great week my friends!

Currently: Feeling SO VERY TIRED

Listening: The NCT 127 album which dropped today. Currently it's a song called Fly Away With Me and I really like it. NCT 127 is going to be big. Watch for them. They already strutted their stuff on the red carpet at the AMA's this past week. But here's the song they are promoting. This version is all in English, so no worries on that front! Plus, it has a cool tiger. (I thought it was pretty weird at first, but it's really growing on me. Not the tiger. The song. )

NCT 127 at the AMAs

Watching: We started the latest season of Survivor... because... why not? It started out with a bang when a dude hurt his back during a wild boat ride and had to be pulled from the game on day 3. That was crazy. Also watching a drama called 30 but 17... about a girl who was in an accident when she was 17 and wakes up when she is 30... so she still feels 17. It's so good!

Reading: I have BRIDGE OF CLAY!!! But before I jumped into that, I read a couple other books. I know. It's crazy! Reading is so fun guys! :)

Writing: I put my half written book set in the 80s on my drive and read it all in one sitting, trying to remember what I wrote. Guys. I really liked it. LOL! But I still can't think how to finish it, or how to spiff up the conflicts and drama. Sigh...

Blogging: Hey, not bad, I'm thinking. It's happening!

YouTubing: Ah, but this feels like it's dying. Life is changing for some of us and it makes recording videos hard. BUT. Because of this life change, our content will be taking some new direction. So if you happen to be watching us... you'll see what I mean soon! And here's hoping we aren't really dying, but just having a little transition.

Asking: Why did I stay up until 3 am last night? Cause I was having a great time talking, that's why!

Picture Taking:

Looking Forward To:

  • KPOP and CHILL at Bumblebee's next Friday! Are you in the area? COME!!
  • I GOT JOSH GROBAN TICKETS! That's in a couple weeks. Sitting in the nosebleeds. I'm just going to kick back and listen!
  • I GET TO SEE MARKUS ZUSAK IN ONE WEEK! Yeah. Kick back and listen again. I don't even care what he says! LOL. Though I do hope he tells us all about the past 13 years and how he got through it. Dang, but he's had a hard time.
  • It's almost like my life is going back to normal, right?

Currently: Life... It Goes On

Do we still like these Currently posts? Even though I forget to do them very often?

Listening: Spotify, as usual. The playlist at the moment is the one they make for you based on what you listen to a lot. Daily Mix 1 (they have different mixes based on my different genres.) This list is kpop of course. The song at the moment is the beautiful Leo singing this song:

Maybe I'll get to see him sing this live some day like the lucky people in this audience. :)

A favorite song lately is this one:

We got to see them sing this for the first time at KCON and it was awesome.

Watching: I started a little series on Netflix that the husband recommended called Shetland. Based on mysteries by Ann Cleeves taking place in the Shetland Islands off Scotland. Very intriguing. I watched 3 episodes and need to finish the last 3 to see what happens!

Still watching lots of dramas. I was excited this week when my friend Jenny got sucked into a drama (FINALLY!) and wanted to talk about it (I feel your pain girl!) and so I dropped the one I was halfway into and started this one with her. It's so good!

Not sure what that Hangul says, but people are calling it all sorts of things:
Beating Again... or Falling in Love with Soon Jung are two... lol.

Survivor starts up again soon too I think. Not even sure when, but I said to the husband... "are we watching still" and he said why not, so... why not!

Reading: I'm still being captured by the series and world created by Leigh Bardugo. Currently finishing up Crooked Kingdom. Love these characters so much! But they are KILLING ME! AHH!!!

Writing: Guys I really want to start up again. But I waffle back and forth on why should I? Just to finish the stories I've started? To say that I did it? To actually try and publish? To just make my brain do creative things? I don't really know why and I don't really think I'm good enough to do anything with it, so.... why? Ah... it's so hard to have a positive attitude about this one! I would LOVE to attempt Nano again, but I'm going to be gone being a grandma for some of that month and so I know it will be a crazy endeavor... but still...

Blogging: I decided I need to get all my blogs printed in a hard copy and stuck in binders. I did this for a long time, but got totally behind, so this past week I copied year 2013 of my blog. Wow, but it's fun to look back. I did so freaking much back then!! How did I do that? LOL! Anyway, it's like reliving that whole year again, and it was a pretty great year! This week I hope to get 2014 and maybe even 2015 done. I wonder what I did during those years!

But CURRENTLY, I had a dry spell and then I have been doing okay trying to catch up  on some things, yeah? I think Bloggiesta is going to be happening later on this month.. and I was wondering about the Readathon too.. I bet it's coming up! And also, I'm wondering what fun weekly memes are people doing these days. Anything? What's a good one to start doing? Suggestions?!!! I need a regular weekly feature to look forward to.

YouTubing: Well, as you know KCON was a highlight... being guest panelists at a huge convention. Yeah? But now that high is passing and I'm left wondering what we do next to keep things going. We are sick of doing reactions on the channel, so we are trying to figure out what else would be fun. Sister and YouTube partner Megs will be traveling to Korea in a month and the plan is to have her do travel and experience vlogs for the channel, so we are hoping that will be a fun and popular thing! I still have the most fun compiling song lists, but people don't seem that interested in watching them. It's always a struggle figuring out what people DO want to watch... that's not reactions. LOL.

We'll be going to a the local social media  conference this week. It's always a good thing for getting ideas and revitalizing the enthusiasm, yes?

Asking: Can we PLEASE get some rain? We need the fires out and the smoke all gone.. and we need the weather to cool down! Please???!!!

Picture Taking: We went camping over Labor Day and I enjoyed the sunsets. :)

Looking Forward To:

  • Going to Illinois around Thanksgiving to visit the daughter and family, bond with the 2 year old granddaughter and welcome another granddaughter to the world.
  • Markus Zusak's new book (only a few weeks to go!!) and visit in October! Ah, I think it was a dream that he came here years ago. Did that really happen? I'm so glad it gets to happen again!
  • Hosting another Kpop party at Bumblebees, hopefully in also in October. Did you see the last one? Maybe you even came? Dang, we had a fun and crazy crowd!
That's about it that's going on around here. What's happening with you all?

Currently: Blah Mostly

Listening: To absolutely nothing right now and the silence it killing me. I need to be listening to the new BTS album. Or some of the songs I've added to the playlist this week. Or Up10tion's songs so I can be totally familiar with the ALL before the concert. Or at least my ballad playlist for this lovely Sunday afternoon. Something! Please!

Watching: We went to see Solo the other day. I enjoyed it! Yes. Again, lots of throwbacks to the original, but that's to be expected I think. I will have a real review sometime this week hopefully. I finished the latest drama several days ago and am trying to hold back starting another until I read for a bit. It's hard. It's like saying, I finished a book, but I'm not going to start another one for a few days. Like, who says that! LOL!

Reading: I finished the book club book for the month: The Hate U Give. Look for that review this week too. It was good, but hard to digest. I don't know if I'm going to be able to articulate my thoughts. Anyway, I started a fluffy-ish one right away after finishing it.... The Geography of You and Me.

Blogging: I made a list and I have a ton of things to blog about! I'm trying to catch up slowly but surely. And hopefully as I catch up, I will continue to have a list of things to blog about!

YouTubing: I was just looking at past "Currently" posts and one from this time last year said " about to reach the 10,000 subscriber mark!" And now, one year later I can say... "About to reach the 20,000 subscriber mark!" Seriously though. It sounds awesome, but I feel like we can do even better. When I see other channels exactly like ours with 200,000 subs... or even 1 million subs, then 20,000 seems like small beans. Sigh. Then again, I don't really want the headache that can come with a channel that's actually popular. So, there's that too.
Up10tion!

Looking forward to: Our first Kpop concert of the year! UP10TION!! It's coming up in about 2 and half weeks and I'm so excited I might die of butterfly overload. We'll be flying to San Jose, and it will not only be the concert and also meeting the band, having them sign the CD and getting pictures taken and all sorts of stuff. Can't wait!

Asking: Why is my lawn dead already? And why didn't the carrots pop up even despite the fact that I gave them beautiful dirt to grow in???? WHY????

What's up with you all these days?

Currently Feeling: Full

(as written on Saturday night)

Listening: The OST (original soundtrack) from the drama I shared about in my last post. So many awesome and beautiful songs.

Watching: The Olympics Opening Ceremonies (last night anyway.) It was fantastic and beautiful too.  I expected some kpop groups, but I think we are hearing they are saving that for the Closing Ceremonies. Yeah.
North and South Korea athletes

Reading: Still going through my pile of MG books, but this past week I read what will probably be my favorite one of the bunch. Stay tuned for a review this week!

Making: We made piles and piles of clothes today, cleaning out the closet. We took two completly full huge garbage bags to the thrift store. It feels like a little bit of the junk load in the house is lightened. Just a little.

Planning: Book club this week and making a long list for voting on our next year's schedule. Always fun!

Thinking About: how I should get off this thing and go read for awhile.

Enjoying: this guy's voice: (yeah my currently song changed and now it's this guy) Dang he kills me.

Blogging: I failed this past week. I had nothing to give on that front.

YouTubing: I joined a new little weekly meme where we make a little video on a given prompt... five songs every Friday. This past week was five songs that will be turning 10 this year. Of course, all with a kpop spin.

Feeling: Full of dinner and especially horchata. I love that stuff.

Looking forward to: next weekend. Holiday!

Asking: What should we read for book club next year? Suggestions?

Currently: Feeling the Need for Chocolate Chip Cookies

Listening: It's awesome these days because people are always recommending new wonderful music to us from all over the world. It's like a dream for me. So the latest discovery is happily known as Qpop... music from Kazakhastan (or Qazaqstan as it's also known as these days.) There's a particular group there known as Ninety One and it's been all about them this week around here. Some of it is pretty weird, but also so very fun. Here's the favorite:   (Watch it a couple of times and let me know if it gets stuck in your head.)

Watching: just more kdramas. I have another one to review. Look for that in the next couple of days. Nothing "normal" on regular TV or Netflix or whatever it is people watch. I'm really feeling the need to watch that one about Queen Victoria though.  And The Walking Dead will be starting up again in about a month. Somehow, I'm still following that one. Even without my favorite character. Sob.

Reading: I've still been working on my pile of MGs that need to be read. I got stuck on one though,
which is not a great sign, right? A MG book should not take me all week long to read! But I have a Kasie West book waiting for me on the sidelines and I'm dying to just devour it and enjoy. Please let that be this week!

Making: As noted above in the title, I'm having a chocolate chip cookie craving. It happens way more often than it should. But I think I'll make up a batch and then freeze most of the dough. Great idea, no? Yes?

Planning: I need to plan April, but I haven't actually done it yet. April is going to be an intense month. I'm also planning what to do next week for Bloggiesta.

Thinking about: how I'd really like to go to The Death Cure. Sometime in the first week at least.

Enjoying: a lot of down days lately with just at home evenings with books, music and dramas. I think this might a perk of an empty nest.

Writing: a lot more blog posts than usual. Though I do still think... okay, what should I write about today? Anyone got any great ideas? Anyone? I think about my WIPs a lot, probably every day, but still haven't figured out how to fit them into my life again. Or how to get up the enthusiasm for them again. I'm pretty convinced that I can't do it and then I get mad at myself.

Blogging: I feel like I'm back in the swing of it again. Mostly.

YouTubing: As mentioned above we have a bunch of new videos up about Qpop... and some about Vpop (love this stuff too) and Toto has been making her roommates react to videos, so those are going up too. I also did a very fun (I thought) compilation of kpop guys who dance in floppy shirts.  Yeah. Some of you might enjoy that one more than others... but you can click here if you are intrigued by the thought.

Feeling: Nostalgic and a bit sad lately.

Looking forward to: spring break when Toto comes home and Ryn might visit and Megs too if her spring break is then and then we can party...

Asking: What is the best thing you did this week? Or the best thing you plan to do this coming week?

Misc Random:

  • I need a haircut
  • I'm adding to my Korean vocab knowledge every day thanks to Mango and TTMIK
  • Making dinner is hard.
  • My shoulder is wearing out.
  • It snowed and it was awesome. Today, back to no jacket again.

(I borrowed some more categories from Lit and Life! I was massively bored with the ones I had going on.)

Currently: Feeling Tired

Listening: Right now.. the sounds of a video game. I'm not a fan. Earlier... the sounds of the England Dan Spotify station my husband had going. That was soothing. This week... songs from The Greatest Showman continue to be stuck in my head. Especially A Million Dreams.

On the kpop front people in my life are texting me when they hear Mic Drop out in the wild and it's happening all the time! Have you heard it yet? If you do, I expect a notification of some sort! Let me know!!! :)

Watching: Well, Star Wars for the second time and The Greatest Showman. Survivor on TV ended awhile back. It was an... okay season. I finished Minho's terrible sad drama that was all about suicide and aired only days before his hyung (band brother) committed suicide. The timing on that was eerie. But he was awesome in that little drama. It was only two episodes long so more like a movie. Review to come soon.

Reading: I've been reading for the long lists for the Beehive Award and the AML Middle Grade awards. Which means I've been doing some awesome reading. The one I reviewed the other day... Eliza and Her Monsters was perfect. I loved it TONS. My big reading decision right now is do I re-read Ready Player One for book club.... hmmm..... But the trailer I saw for that movie made it look so very awesome. Looking forward to that!

Writing: AH! DON'T ASK ME THIS ONE!! Do you think I can give up sleep entirely so I can fit this back into my life?

Blogging: Can you see how awesome I've been this past week? Only missed one day since the new year!!! Go me! Suddenly, there's stuff to blog about! We'll see how long that lasts.

YouTubing: Oh man. The ride is a crazy one. We had our first video hit ONE MILLION VIEWS! And while it was only a compilation and not us on the video... lol... it was still a video on our channel. Yay. Other interesting things about YouTubing: hate comments, love comments, subscriber milestones, copyright claims, monetizing, working with a partnership company based in Korea... yeah. It's a fascinating ride.

Misc:
  • We had a fun Christmas break. Got to visit with my daughter and her family. My granddaughter called me Grandma and so all is well with the world now.
  • It doesn't feel like Christmas/winter yet because there is still no snow. I know some of you would love to send us some and have less in your part of the woods.
  • The week before Christmas was a very trying one emotionally for several reasons. I'm still not over some of those events. Life is hard sometimes. I hate that.
  • Next up in life: help plan a little wedding. "Small Mom, we want small. Very very small." Yes, a little wedding.
That's about it for now! Party on.

Currently: Feeling Lazy

I should have done stuff today, but I did nothing except hang out at a reunion for a few hours. But, I just didn't feel like doing anything. I have many posts to write but instead of writing them, I'll write a currently instead...

Listening: To Spotify. My "songs" playlist, which includes everything. Kpop, Muse, Justin Beiber, Vpop, Maroon5, soundtracks. It's an awesome play list. At this very moment, it's a song from the drama Goblin by Sam Kim called Who are You. There's lots of English bits. I bet you'll like it:

Watching: I finished two dramas that I want to tell you about. And started and almost finished another. I haven't watched any movies lately. I want to though. But, it never seems to get fit in.

Reading: I just finished a book today. It was okay. I mean I liked it but... it wasn't what I was expected. Kind of a downer book. I will review it soon. I also finished the book club book for last week's book club. It was also... okay. Sigh. I will review it soon too. (See, I have posts to write!)

Writing: Nothing to report here this time. Like at all. I am holding out hope for Oct/Nov/Dec on this one. Let's watch and see what happens with that!

Blogging: I had a little spurt and then it fizzled again, huh? But I hope this week to catch up and get some things posted! (Dang, why did I want to do a currently again? There is nothing to report in most of m categories!!!)

YouTubing: This endeavor is sure up and down. We continue to get subscribers, slowly but surely. But we put up videos and it seems no one is watching. Ah, it's frustrating! I'm going to a conference this week about YouTubing and I hope to learn a ton and come back all knowledgeable! YouTube is the biggest mystery to me! But when we went to the concert last weekend, a few people recognized us and seemed excited about it! That's... something.

Monsta X
Even Hyungwon (far left) who had been sick was there for us!!!

Misc: The best thing of course to report on is that we had another fabulous kpop concert weekend last weekend. I will do a post on it too, but it all turned out perfect. We ended up only a few people deep back from the stage and saw the band perfectly. They are so real! This is such an amazing thing! And we survived our "high touch" experience, but it was WAY TOO FAST. But still, it was a chance to look each one of them in the eye and personally thank them.  Anyway, it was awesome. One more kpop weekend to come. And then I hope we'll take a bit of a break to recover.

We had some family time recently too. That was all awesome too!
