Bookmark Monday: Travels

Another meme I'm trying out... Bookmark Monday hosted by Aloi from Guiltless Reading, wherein we post some favorite bookmarks, both those we actually own or those we wish we did!

For my first post I'd like to share a few bookmarks I've collected from places we've visited. I haphazardly buy bookmarks for souvenirs and looking at this pile I wish I'd been more consistent with the endeavor, but at any rate, here's a sampling:

Italy (San Gimignano), Bryce Canyon, Grand Canyon, Great Smoky Mountains,
York and London, England.

  1. I love the bookmark idea, collecting on your travels. I like that idea more than a postcard, although I love receiving postcards from my brother who travels the world. My bookmark is homemade and where I list the books I read for each given year (a new one made for each new year).

For your Saturday Sing Along post, I couldn't comment but want to say -- that's a fun song! I agree with Jenny though, it's a bit too much boy band -- a group of young pretty boys singing -- but I do like the song and definitely can be a good one to start a day with. :-)

  2. Yes! I wanted to collect something from each place we stopped on my cruise and ended up deciding on jewelry. I don't even wear jewelry. I didn't think to do book marks until I got home. Stupid, I know. I love these btw.

  3. I collect magnets from places I visit. I love sticking them up and looking at them. I do collect bookmarks too, but mostly from bookish events and ones I see in the store that I love. And, sometimes a very generous friend will bring me back one from the cool places they visit. ;)

    1. Jenni: Tori does magnets too and has a whole wall of them. It's awesome.

  4. Hi!

I think I'm going to copy your idea and buy bookmarks everywhere I go. I've done it sometimes, but now I'm gonna make it a kind of tradition. Thanks for the inspiration! :)

By the way, I also participate on Bookmark Monday, if you want you can check my post here:

  5. What a lovely collection! I think it's a brilliant idea to collect bookmarks as travel souvenirs. I know someone who collects shotglasses - I've always thought that was pretty cool until the glass broke somehow in her luggage. Eep.

So, tell me, which of these places was the most memorable trip?

    1. Aloi: Wow they were all memorable! These represent two different trips to Europe and one driving across the US. Plus a simpler spring break trip to the Grand Canyon, and then our just most recent one to Bryce. All awesome! Europe trips are especially epic though I suppose, of course.
