A few weeks ago we listed
words that describe books that we will nearly always pick up and read! This week it's jut the opposite and we are listing words that make us NOT want to read a book.
Ten Words or Phrases That I Don't Like
1. whodunit
2. bawdy
3. crude
4. erotic
5. political
6. raucous fun
7. Christian
8. poignant (ha, not really, but I just had to throw it in after
my post of awhile back!)
9. allegorical
10. symbolic
Hmmmm.. that was harder than thinking of the words I like!

This was hard for me too. I will read almost anything.
ReplyDeleteMost of these would be on my list too.

I don't love politics or reading about them... sooo I avoid those books too!

A lot of these words would be on my list as well. View my topic choices here: http://meandu-justthinking.blogspot.ca/2013/07/top-ten-tuesday-3.html
ReplyDeleteLOL I'm a Christian and tend to avoid (or at least be enormously skeptical of) Christian books!
ReplyDeleteGreat list! I agree 100%.
ReplyDeleteDitto for political! I'm actually interested in reading more Christian fiction though - it's not a genre I've tried, but would like to see what it's all about.

Bawdy is a great one. I would definitely avoid that one.

ReplyDeleteInteresting list of words. I tend to avoid Christian fiction too, as my past experience equated boring and too contrived for me. But,I am more willing to read that fiction if there isn't an Amish looking photo on the cover. And, Francine Rivers tends to do a fabulous job so I will give her books a go.
ReplyDeleteAnd yeah, your other words do nothing for me; I avoid those ones or at minimum I don't gravitate towards them readily.
