Anyway, some of my favorite non-fiction books, ones that I absolutely loved:
Coop by Michael Perry
The World's Strongest Librarian by Josh Hanagarne
A Walk in the Woods by Bill Bryson
Seabiscuit by Laura Hildebrand
John Adams by David McCullough
The Glass Castle by Jeanette Walls
A Girl Named Zippy by Haven Kimmel
The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks by Rebecca Skloot
84, Charring Cross Road by Helene Hanff
The Devil in the White City by Erik Larson
Wonderful wonderful books all!
What are some of your favorites? Which non-fiction books am I missing that I NEED to read NOW?
Come and play over at Armchair BEA!
I really like Bill Bryson's books, they're always funny! I don't read a huge amount of non-fiction, but one of my favourite books (Into The Wild) is non-fiction, and the author, Jon Krakauer, has written a few really good books about different topics.
ReplyDeleteYou've listed some of my favorite nonfiction books :) If you liked Hillenbrand's Seabiscuit you would probably love Unbroken by her :)
ReplyDeleteI thought In The Garden of Beasts by Erik Larson was very good. It is all about the american ambassador and his family living in Berlin right before WWII.

The World's Strongest Librarian is one that I really want to read! And Seabiscuit might be the first non-fiction book I read completely of my own volition. I'm sure thanks to the movie. ;) We're reading A Walk in the Woods for book club next moth. Yay!
ReplyDeleteSome excellent books there & some I am having to add to my TBR on Goodreads. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI read 84, Charring Cross Road for the first time this year and loved it so much!
