February Reading Recap

A pathetic reading month! Here's to a much bigger list this coming month!

What I did manage:

Atonement by Ian McEwan: A young misinterprets the actions of her older sister and the consequences change the lives of several people.

Inheritance by Christopher Paolini: Eragon, Saphira and their friends face the evil Galbatorix in a final battle.

Overbite by Meg Cabot: Meena is reunited with Lucian, the son of Dracula, but she's not so sure that's a good thing and may end up having to stake him before it's over!

Finnikin of the Rock by Melina Marchetta: Finnikin, with the help of a silent and strange girl, begins the process of reuniting his people and kingdom.

Midnight in Austenland by Shannon Hale: After Charlotte's marriage has failed, she finds herself in Austenland living out her own dreamy story in order to forget the realities at home.

My favorite of this month was Finnikin for sure.

My plans for March reading:

  • I've committed to three blog tours of sorts this month... The Savage Grace (Bree Despain), Return to Exile (E.J. Patten), and a one by new local author Carolyn Frank.
  • I also wanted to read and promote the new Beyonders book by Brandon Mull
  • Also, we are reading The Man Who Mistook His Wife for a Hat for book club. This one could be tricky.
  • Only a couple hundred pages left in The Path of Daggers!
  • The Wise Man's Fear is still in the very soon list.
  • I have two books from the library that I'm dying to get to, Why We Broke Up by Daniel Handler and Dead End in Norvelt by Jack Gantos... recent award winners
  • Plus I didn't get to a classic last month so I would really like to this month!
  • Still pondering the Clarissa read along! I'm so crazy.
  • and there's more but you've heard them all already!
How did your February reading go? Better than mine I hope.

  1. I am feeling pretty good about February - I read 6 books with my favorite probably being WINTER SEA.

Your February looks good.. I feel like I have heard of Finnikin before. As if I owned the book somehow. I looked in my daughter's pile and stacks of books. I do not own it. I am going to read your review, have yet to do that.

Yay for you that you are making your way through Path of Daggers. Drudge work that book is. Ummm...when do you think you will be ready for the next one? Hate to ask that question,

Good luck with reading in March. I say, set the idea of Clarrisa aside. Another opportunity for that book will come along.

  2. I'm about to write my wrapup post for February and it's more pathetic than yours. I think I only managed 4 books last month! What's up with that?! I think I'm having a reading lull but am in denial about it.

  4. Your March sounds exciting! I'm really looking forward to The Savage Grace. It's always nice to be able to promote local authors.
I hope you like Why We Broke Up. I enjoyed it, but it seems like people either love it or hate it.

  5. Okay, I really need to read FINNIKIN.

And whew! Your plans for March are extensive. Plus, there's that pesky THE MAN WHO MISTOOK HIS WIFE FOR A HAT (which I have been referring to as TMWMHWFAH) for short. :)

  6. Laughing at Jessica's TMWMHWFAH! cool. It's a fascinating book and you should be able to break it up by chapters and get through it easily.
Ok, off to see if you liked Atonement and look for the bloggiesta signup post.
