Mark, Get Set, Read!

Good morning Readathoners! I'm ready to read!

First plan of the day.... finish The Shadow Rising. I have about 100 pages left, and after nearly 1000 pages, that seems like a piece of cake!

And here's the first mini challenge of the day... a sort of "get to know you" thing:

Where are you reading from today?
Where in my house? Or where in the world? In my house we've decided to make the downstairs "book nook" or library corner the headquarters for the day. In the world, we are here in Utah where fall seems to have finally made an appearance! (And by the way, I keep saying "we" because Toto, 11 year old daughter, will be participating with me, though she hasn't quite got up yet!)

3 facts about me …
1. I cut my thumb on the cheese grater last night, so I have an injury to deal with today! (Nothing big, but it is still seeping if you must know.)
2. Sadly, I didn't get to bed last night until 12:20 a.m., so I'm starting this readathon off with a whopping 5 hours of sleep!
3. I love to read, watch TV, eat, listen to music, travel with our trailer, laugh at our bird, work at the library, and play on the computer! Yep, that's pretty much me!

How many books do you have in your TBR pile for the next 24 hours?
Seven for now.

Do you have any goals for the read-a-thon (i.e. number of books, number of pages, number of hours, or number of comments on blogs)?
No specific goals, just have fun and try to read all day long.

If you’re a veteran read-a-thoner, any advice for people doing this for the first time?
This is only my second time, so I wouldn't consider myself a veteran, but my advice would be to just have fun and don't stress about any one thing. Just read, blog here and there, get up when you need to, have a nap when you need to and relax!

Okay enough blogging, on to the reading! I will update.... whenever I feel like it! :)

  2. Oh no! I did that to my thumb with a lemon zester and still have the scar. :( Hope it doesn't hinder your reading!

    Have a fantastic day Suey!

  5. A readathon sounds like so much fun! Maybe one day I'll get to participate in one. Trouble is, I'm a SLOW reader, so I wouldn't get a lot of books read. I'd enjoy myself thoroughly, though!
