Review: Hush, Hush by Becca Fitzpatrick

Book: Hush, Hush by Becca Fitzpatrick

Genre: YA Paranormal

Rating: B+

From: The store! Yes, I bought it.

This one is for my "for fun" challenge, and fulfills part five of that challenge which says:

Challenge 5: Title Word Count (worth 1 entry)Go to Random.org and, using the True Random Number Generator, enter the numbers 1 for the min. and 5 for the max. and then hit generate. Find a book to read that has that number of words in the title. Read the book and write about it.

The number it spit out at me was 2, and so I looked at the books I was dying to read and that's how Hush, Hush became my book for this challenge!

I'm guessing pretty much all of you have read this one by now. I'm a little slow on the band wagon with it, so it's finally fun to know what you all have been taking about. For those who haven't read it yet, it's about Nora, who gets paired up with Patch, a slightly creepy kid, for a biology assignment. She finds out that he seems to know way more about her than is normal, and yet he reveals nothing about himself. When she investigates further, she finds out that Patch truly does have an interesting, and not-so-nice background. Does this stop her from being attracted to him? Of course not!

I liked it, and turned the pages awfully fast! It's pretty much the same formula for all the other teenage paranormal romances. They are fun, I must admit, and I enjoy them, but after awhile, they are starting to get a little old. I need to give them a break or something.

Bottom line: I liked it!

  1. I've been on the wait-list for this at the library for months! If I didn't have a HUGE pile of books at home waiting to be read, I might have had to break down and buy it as well :)

  2. You're not the last to read it - I still haven't. It's one I bought too. Sigh.

  3. My daughter loved it. I think it was a bit typical teenager-ish. There were some good things about it, but I didn't love it.

  4. I think the cover is really dramatic looking. And I love how you made this part of the challenge work for you.
