Has anyone every tried Kindle Vella? Or even know what it is? I'm guessing it's a place on Amazon where authors post a bit of their story at a time, like in the old days. And you get hooked with some free bits and then you have to pay to get the rest? Yes?
Anyway, I thought I'd try it with this book by an author I sort of know, Jennie Bennett, whose books I've read some of and quite enjoyed. So, I've read one chapter with this Kindle Vella thing and am already intrigued.

And if you have experience with this platform, let me know how it works for sure! What can I expect? As an aspiring author, is it something I should be looking into and learning more about?
Interesting-isn't that how Dickens novels were first published? as serial installments in newspapers or magazines? Sounds kinda fun, but I would probably not like having to wait for the next chapter!
ReplyDeleteExactly!
DeleteI am clueless. I haven't even heard of this concept.
ReplyDeleteI have no idea. I've never heard of it. Sounds interesting, though. I probably wouldn't do it, though, because like Jeane says, I'd hate waiting for the next chapter.
ReplyDeleteI have seen Kindle Vella but I'm not going to try it. I find the paying method a bit silly - you have to buy tokens to redeem the episodes. What was the point of that? Plus it's basically short stories or novellas but you get an episode at a time like a tv show. I do like the idea of serialize stories but this way of doing it is just dumb.
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely day.
