Nine Years Old!

Nine years ago today I published my first post on this blog. It's been a fun nine years! And after all this time, I'm suffering through my first real and true slump. Keep your fingers crossed that I can dig myself out! (Well, unless you don't really care! LOL!)

I, for one, am hoping I can dig out. But in the meantime, I'll post when the mood strikes, and when I ever read something, and about other things I might be doing.

Anyway, that being said, I thought I'd celebrate by getting a new profile picture. It's time to come out from behind the book stack, don't you think?

I had my daughter and son-in-law take some pictures of me awhile back. They are amazing photographers and I have a bunch to pick from. Here are some of my favorites.

I like this one the most actually. It just looks... normal.

I like the red.

This one is... okay, but others that have seen these choose this one as the best.
A little different take on the red.
Showing my feelings at the awkwardness of getting my picture taken.
It's probably one of my least favorite things ever!

And so, which one (if any) do you like? Or do you think I should stick safely behind the book stack? :)

Oh, and if you like numbers, here are a few from the past nine years:

2918 published posts
20,662 comments
912,580 page views according to Google Stats which started in June 2010
14 Bloggiestas hosted, 6 or so participated in before that
4 Utah Book Months hosted
700+ books reviewed
40+ authors interviewed
10  Dewey Readathons
30+ blog tours
30 posts tagged with Markus Zusak
105 monthly recaps
12 yearly top ten posts
220 top ten lists posted

And... so on and so on and so on!

It's been fun! Here's hoping I'll be here to celebrate number ten next year! And, here's to blogging!

  1. So awesome, Suey!

I, for one, am very glad that you've been blogging and continue to do so.
I am very glad to know you.

Congrats on the nine years! I pray you keep the blog going, so no worries about the slump. Post when you can and feel up to it. But do try to post somewhat regularly otherwise it does become easier and easier to let it go to the wayside (my experience).

Profile photo -- love them all. So fun to see you get out from behind the book stack! :-) yay!
I like photo #3 best because of your smile; it's great. Maybe crop it a bit for an actual profile photo. My second favorite is the first photo.
I do really like them all.

  4. Congrats! I like the first red shirt photo the best. With the green background. Only 30 posts tagged with Markus huh? I would think it was more than that!

    1. Jenny: I probably only tagged when the post was A LOT about him, and not just when I mentioned him. Now that would be an interesting stat.

  7. Congratulations Suey! Nine years is quite an accomplishment. I think all the photos look great, but my favorite is the first red one. I like the contrast and the colors are nice and bright.

Yeah, where are the Josh stats??? Is it because we are so overcome with other music right now???

  12. Yay! Congrats on your ninth blogoversary! I'll celebrate mine in June (if I last that long). I hope you (and I for that matter) can get out of our blogging slumps.

I really like the pictures your sister and son-in-law took. My favorite is the red shirt with the green background, the first red one basically. I like your smile in it. It seems genuine.

    1. Ugh! I meant daughter not sister. I know Jessica is your DAUGHTER. *facepalm* Also, I meant to say that I like your numbers. That's really cool. It's the only reason I wish I had kept my blog as it was and not deleted everything. But, I'm also glad I started over even though I haven't posted much.

  17. Happy blogiversary! I think you should pick the picture you like the best, the one that you'll feel the most comfortable looking at every time you pull up the blog. They're all great. Except maybe the awkward angle on that last one!
