Author Events Galore

This past month has been full of author events.  I thought I'd highlight them real quick like by sharing a few pictures.

Just a few days ago Courtney Alameda launched her debut book, Shutter. It's a YA ghost hunting horror story. I've just barely started it, but everyone says it's totally creepy.  Courtney is special to us because she has worked at the library in the past and was key to getting so many big name authors to visit here, including the beloved Markus Zusak. It was fun to support her as her own book was released.

Kami, Jenny, Jenni Elyse, Suey, Toto
and Courtney

Looking all cute in her zombie skirt.

Kami and Jenni getting their books signed.

Then last week we went to see Marissa Meyer for the launch of her latest book, Fairest. It's a novella, back story of the evil queen featured in Cinder, Scarlet and Cress. The final book in the series, Winter, will be released later this year I think. Anyway, she is one of my daughter's favorites so I made her do all the talking and interaction. Given all the author events I've hauled her to, you'd think it would be no big deal, but she was pretty star struck this time!

Toto and Suey with Marissa

The first week in January saw the release of Ignite, second in the Defy series by local author, Sara B. Larson. Off we went again! She had a fun presentation and we all did much giggling. Can't wait to jump into this latest book.

Toto, Suey, Sara, Jenni and Kami

Signing our book!

And finally, a Photoshop fun picture to share. With apologies to Sara, it was too perfect a picture not to mess with! You might be seeing more of these in the future since my daughter, Toto, is becoming quite the expert!

Hey! Look who was at the signing with us!
Tom Hiddleston himself!

This month we have a mass author signing as part of LTUE and later, Ransom Riggs and Tahereh Mafi. We'll see how things shake down!

  2. I love the Tom Hiddleston pic. I highly doubt you'd all look that calm of it was really him. ;)
