3. something by Stephen King... obviously!

4. Frankenstein by Mary Shelley
5. Interview with a Vampire by Anne Rice
6. Coraline by Neil Gaiman
7. Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte
8. Jamaica Inn by Daphne du Maurier
9. The Shadow of the Wind by Carlos Ruiz Zafon

I've read 4 of those and haven't heard of the rest.
ReplyDeleteKami: Do you agree with me on the four?
DeleteCoraline is such a creepy read! I was telling my daughter how the book is scarier than the movie. Nice list!
ReplyDeleteVasilly: And that's saying a lot because the movie is pretty creepy too!
Delete"The Historian" is a beautiful book.
ReplyDelete~ Cate is Reading Good Books.
Cate: Agreed!
DeleteOh yeah, The Historian definitely. I can't believe I didn't think about that one.
ReplyDeleteJess: And it was the first one I thought of!
DeleteWuthering Heights! So disturbing, even if it's not a traditionally scary book.
ReplyDeleteMelissa: Exactly what I was thinking. And I just love the gothic-ness of that book so much.
DeleteCoraline! I can't believe I haven't read that one yet this year ... I usually always reread it around this time of year. Maybe I can squeeze it in. :) Great recommendations!
ReplyDeleteKristilyn: Good luck!
DeleteI'm reading Jamaica Inn right now. I can't believe I've never thought of Wuthering Heights as a Halloween type book. So clever of you. Coraline is a must read for me at Halloween. Have a happy Halloween! kelley—the road goes ever ever on
