The word forced is truly in quotes as I've never in my life felt at all forced to read something. The word forced and read just don't go together in my brain. I know some people feel very much differently, but that's how it is with me!
With that being said, here's a list of some books off the top of my head where I had some pretty good encouragement and incentive to read them! I could go on and on, but I think I already hit the ten book limit here!

The Tale of Two Cities by Charles Dickens: in which I didn't understand a thing but loved it anyway!

DeleteMy biggest forced book was in HS -- The Grapes of Wrath. I did not like it at all, but have been wanting to re-read it now that I am older and more mature (wiser?) or something like that! :)

DeleteWow, I've only read ONE of these. Shame on me! I bought WAY OF KINGS for my Kindle so I could read it without racking up thousands of dollars in library fines, but I STILL haven't gotten to it. Someday ...
ReplyDeleteSusan: It's an amazing book, but I probably would have never gotten to it either without the read along. Anyway, just jump into it sometime. You'll be amazed at how fast it flies by.

ReplyDeleteI felt the same way, how can one be forced to read. Encouraged is a much better way. Nice list.
