Armchair BEA and Top Ten Tuesday: Favorite Classics


I love the classics. Before book blogging, it seemed that's pretty much all I was reading. Now, I've broadened my horizons, and sometimes the classics have suffered. But they are my first love.

Here's a list of my favorites:

4. Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte
5. The Grapes of Wrath by John Steinbeck

8. The Count of Monte Cristo by Alexandre Dumas
9. Les Miserables by Victor Hugo
10. A Tale of Two Cities by Charles Dickens

    Great list here. There are a few that I will put on my list of books I need and want to read.

    I love Dickens! His stuff always blows me away! I wasn't into Wuthering Heights. It made me angry.

      Kami: A book that makes you angry means it was a good book, right? It stirs up the emotions. That's what I always say anyway...

    Not surprised at all that I love most of these! I did kinda hate Wuthering Heights though. I think I may need to re-read that one and decide if my expectations were just way off.

      Melissa: It would be fun to see what you think of a re-read of it. But... most people hate it so I'm not much surprised!

    Wow, I've only read four of these. That's pretty sad, especially for an English major! For shame. I need to read more of these. Thanks for the push :)

    I haven't read that many classics but I just bought a few that I am looking forward to reading. P&P would have to be my favorite so far though!
