Top Ten Tuesday: 2013 Reading Goals
Many of you have already posted your goals for the year, and they've been very inspiring for me! Today for the B and B Top Ten Tuesday I going to attempt to list a few goals of my own, though I fear they are pretty much the same every year.
Top Ten Reading Goals for 2013
1. Read 80 books this year! (I'm lowering down a bit from 100 which seems too hard suddenly.)
2. Read 10 classics as part of participating in The Classics Club
3. Keep trying to get some non fiction in there too! Five? Can I try for that maybe?
4. Don't forget to be spontaneous... always.
5. Support local authors... even with money, and don't stress about the ARC thing.
6. Read two or three Wheel of Time books (finish 8, then 9 and 10)
7. Don't go crazy on NetGalley because there's lots of books here on the shelf that need reading too.
8. Have fun with read alongs and a challenge here and there... because it's okay to at least try.
9. Give the adult fiction some more attention. There's some good "big kid" books out there too!
10. Finish a series or two that needs finishing.
Sound good? Let's get going!
I'm so with you on finishing series! I have some good ones that need some love.

Great list of goals! I need to remember #7, as NetGalley always tempts me! Good luck!
ReplyDeleteI love the ton of these goals - reaching, but with permission to do something different if that is what works this year. That is the balance I feel like I am always missing by just a hair.
ReplyDeleteThat should be "tone" - not "ton." :)
DeleteI have support local authors on my list, as well, and I somewhat expanded it into two parts--one for supporting local authors, the other for reading books that friends and aquaintences have published in the last year. :D
ReplyDeleteGreat goals, Suey! Read 10 classics just scares me, lol. I do read at least 2 per year, but 10 just seems daunting for whatever reason. Although, if my goals and plans stay true for the whole year (ha!), I'll read at least 5 this year.
ReplyDeleteI should have added don't go crazy on NetGalley because I'm so guilty of that. Im a like a kid in a sweet shop!

Those sound like some good goals. I read so many teen books last year, but I am hoping to read some mroe middle grade this year. I don't want to forget about those awesome books.
ReplyDeleteGood luck on your goals! :)
great list of goals. your 2, 9, & 10 look like goals I will be adopting this year.
ReplyDeleteI am ever impressed with your support of and participation in local blogger and author events. I hope 5 will will be a fun goal for you.

I totally get the NetGalley comment. I seemed to either request too many and couldn't get to them all or I would neglect all the lovely books already on my shelves.
ReplyDeleteGood luck with your goals. :)
I admire you for reading so many. I usually get through 52 books a year. I'll definitely look into participating in more author events, they're fun for everyone.

Yay for the Classics Club! I finished a lot of series this year and it was really satisfying.
ReplyDeleteYay for reading more non-fiction. Here are some of my fave non-fiction authors for you to try out: Mary Roach, Bill Bryson, A.J. Jacobs,
ReplyDeleteGood luck with your reading goals for 2013!!
