Top Ten Tuesday: Books to Read in a Day
Here's a few books I that I would recommend sitting down and reading in a day. By definition, I've picked books that are short (mostly) and very engaging...and of course, books I've loved! Do you agree with me? What would you add to the list?
Top Ten Books To Read in a Day
1. Skellig by David Almond
2. The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins
3. The Goose Girl by Shannon Hale
4. Scarlet by A.C. Gaughen
5. The Princess Diaries by Meg Cabot
6. Island of the Blue Dolphins by Scott O'Dell
7. The Giver by Lois Lowry
8. Getting the Girl by Markus Zusak
9. A Single Shard by Linda Sue Park
10. May B. by Caroline Starr Rose
This list prompt brought to you today by The Broke and the Bookish, who continue to come up with fun list ideas week after week after week! Come on over and join us!
Scarlet is on my list to read, good to know it's a quick read. I loved Island of the Blue Dolphin when I was younger.
ReplyDeleteRockyRiver: If you love Robin Hood stuff, you'll love Scarlet and can read it in a day for sure.
DeleteI had completely forgotten about Island of the Blue Dolphins. I read it in fourth grade and loved it. I may just need to pick it up again.
ReplyDeleteThis is a good idea for a list. Sometimes I just want to get consumed in and finish a book on a lazy day.
M.C.: I love Island of the Blue Dolphins! And every time my kids are reading it, I pick it up just to remember it for a minute and then end up reading the whole thing again. Awesome book!
DeleteI almost read THG in a day, but Corey wanted me to go to bed so I'd go to church the next day, lol. But total reading time it was less than 24 hours.
ReplyDeleteJenni: I think I actually took two days to read it too...the day after Christmas 2008
DeleteThe Giver and The Hunger Games are two of my favorites too.
ReplyDeleteBooks: They are amazing books!
DeleteHi there, just popping in... I really must start 'The Hunger Games'... am I the only person who hasn't read this series yet???
ReplyDeleteI’m also your newest follower!
:) Here is my choice...
Top Ten Tuesday
Book Slave: Um... yeah... I'd say you are about one of the last, especially these days with the movie excitement! Get going!
DeleteThe Hunger Games and The Giver totally made my list, too. Great picks!
ReplyDeleteHannah: Really? And I thought The Giver would be off a lot of people's radar!
DeleteI thought about Getting the Girl. AFTER I posted, of course. :( I have read that one twice and both times I read it in one day.
ReplyDeleteJenny: I think I took a little more than a day with that one, but I know I COULD HAVE read it in a day! Time to read it again, yes? :)
DeleteAmazing list. Island of the Blue Dolphins is fantastic. Here's my Top Ten. Would love for you to stop by.
ReplyDeleteAngela: Thanks! It IS amazing, isn't it. I will drop by. :)
DeleteFor certain, the Hunger Games could be read in a day. I loved The goose Girl, but that one may take two days. I have not hear of Getting Girl but reminds me to ask you... Which Zusak book do you think I should read next?
ReplyDeleteIbeeeg: You are probably right on The Goose Girl.. it takes a bit to get into that one. And I think you should read I Am The Messenger next by the lovely Markus Zusak. :)
DeleteAmazing list :) I need to get around to reading some of those!! I'm a new follower and just wanted to drop by and say HI! Here's my Top Ten:
