The Classics Challenge 2010

Here's my official sign up for another challenge I try to do each and every year, the Classics Challenge. I'm opting for the Classics Snack, which is to read four classics from April through October. I want to do more, I should be able to do more, but for some reason, I keep having a hard time with this challenge!

Four classics I hope to read for the challenge are:

Twenty Years After by Alexandre Dumas
Bleak House by Charles Dickens
The Wind in the Willows by Kenneth Graham
Moll Flanders by Daniel Defoe

And for the bonus read (a book that WILL be a classic some day) I want to read The Secret History by Donna Tartt.

So that's my plan! We'll see how it goes.

  1. the man's name is Defoe, not Defore, I think. For the rest: good luck,

  3. I would really like this to be my year of classics. Ask me how that's going so far. Hah! I should definitely join this challenge and maybe it will help me actually start reading a classic. I got Middlemarch off the shelf a couple of weeks ago but that's as far as I got. :(

  4. Bleak House is fantastic. It's really long, though, but worth it. And to Kim, Middlemarch is also very long but worth it.

The Bleak House BBC adaptation from 2005 is amazing and got me completely hooked on Dickens. I highly recommend it.
